About Us
At PRIMAL Mentality CIC, our mission is to use the great outdoors as a pathway to better mental health and stronger communities. We create safe, welcoming environments where people of all ages can reconnect with nature, discover new skills, and find support for their wellbeing journey.

Why Angling?
Fishing is at the heart of what we do. More than just a pastime, angling provides calm, focus, and reflection. It slows the pace of life, giving space to breathe, think, and reset. Whether it’s a child learning to cast for the first time or an adult finding peace on the bank, angling is a powerful tool for improving mental wellbeing.
Through projects like the Reel Healing Project, our Angling Afterschool Programme, and community-based fishing events, we help people manage stress, build confidence, and connect with others in a supportive outdoor setting.
We believe that connecting with nature is not just a great way to stay active—it also boosts mental health and overall wellbeing.

All of our services are delivered by qualified professionals. Our aim is to support and encourage individuals to step out of their comfort zones, build experience, and grow in confidence in the great outdoors.
Our Approach to Mental Health
We know the challenges people face are real.

Early Intervention: According to Young Minds, one in six children aged 5–16 are living with a mental health problem, and waiting lists for support continue to grow.

Men’s Mental Health: In the UK, men accounted for three-quarters of suicide deaths in 2020. This highlights the urgent need for safe, supportive spaces where men can connect and share openly.
At Primal Mentality CIC, we use outdoor activities as an alternative way to engage with mental health support. By combining practical skills with community connection, we empower individuals to develop sustainable tools for managing stress, anxiety, and low mood.
