Safeguarding at Primal Mentality CIC

At Primal Mentality CIC, the safety, wellbeing and protection of every child, young person and vulnerable adult is our highest priority.

We are committed to providing safe, inclusive and supportive environments where everyone can enjoy outdoor learning, angling and wellbeing activities with confidence.

Safeguarding is embedded into everything we do and is the responsibility of every member of our team.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Promoting the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults.

  • Providing safe, inclusive and respectful environments.

  • Creating a culture where everyone feels listened to, valued and supported.

  • Responding appropriately to any safeguarding concerns.

  • Working in partnership with schools, parents, carers and partner organisations to ensure the safety of all participants.

Our Team

Primal Mentality CIC ensures that staff and volunteers are appropriately trained and supported.

Our commitment includes:

  • Enhanced DBS checked staff where required.

  • Qualified and experienced instructors.

  • Safeguarding training.

  • Outdoor First Aid qualifications.

  • Appropriate public liability insurance.

  • Comprehensive risk assessments for all activities.

Safe Delivery

Every programme is carefully planned to ensure activities are delivered safely.

This includes:

  • Age-appropriate activities.

  • Suitable staff-to-participant ratios.

  • Dynamic risk assessments.

  • Emergency procedures.

  • Appropriate supervision at all times.

Reporting Concerns

If you have any concerns about the welfare or safety of a participant attending one of our programmes, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible.

All safeguarding concerns are treated seriously and handled confidentially in accordance with our safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.

Where appropriate, concerns may be shared with the relevant safeguarding authorities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those involved.

Our Policies

Primal Mentality CIC maintains a range of safeguarding and health & safety policies that support the safe delivery of our programmes.

Copies of relevant policies are available upon request for schools, partner organisations and commissioners.
